2008-09-18 Oncology medicine created in Lithuania recognized in EU
The Directorate General of Companies and Industry under the European Commission has presented a registration certificate to the oncology medicine created in Lithuania.
Scientists call this a historical achievement and promise that the distribution of this remedy in Europe will begin in 2009, reports ELTA.
The new G-CSF preparation is designed to cure neutropenia caused by chemotherapy. The new remedy was created by Sicor Biotech, subsidiary of the international pharmacy company Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. together with partners. Teva remedy is the first similar biological G-CSF preparation, which has received a registration certificate in the EU.
