2009-12-08 E-enterprise popularization

Enterprise Europe Network organized the seminar "e-Services - an opportunity for entrepreneurs" on 3rd November in Warsaw. The main theme of event was the development of e-business and information society.

Organizers of the seminar presented statistics, which showed that up to 81% of Polish micro, small and medium-sized enterprises have access to Internet, and that it is most often employed for banking operations.
Studies have shown that entrepreneurs prefer the traditional forms of contact with contractors - first of all face to face meetings. However, the role of e-mail is increasing. In the case of 71 percent of companies it is used to communicate with clients.

Despite general access to the Internet, only 41 percent of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises has its own website. This is probably due to the high cost associated with the upkeep and running of such a service.

The Operational Programme – Innovative Economy, Measure 8.1 (Development of E-economy) supports entrepreneurs with development of new, innovative e-services and novel solutions for electronic business.

During the seminar business owners have received a number of practical tips on how to receive funding for e-business.
