2009-11-11 Czech Technology Accelerator in CaliforniaThe idea of the Czech Accelerator in the United States was presented in Sunnyvale, California last month. The project was launched by CzechInvest, Investment and Business Development Agency of the Czech Republic.
The technology incubator will serve for support of Czech companies and university initiatives aiming at introduction of an innovative project. The incubation period will range between 3 and 6 months, time for networking and developing plans, before negotiations with a potential investor.
Except of an office, the incubator assures free of charge easy access to future partners and advisors, as well as networking events.
Successful entrepreneurs can establish a branch, subsidiary or a virtual office in California, and come back home to develop the project further, equipped in already established contacts and first orders placed.
Incubator concentrates on several disciplines, with biotechnology among them.
It is located in PlugandPlayTechCenter, which already guests similar facilities from Estonia, the Netherlands and Canada.
The aim of the Accelerator project is both to learn, and to attract foreign investors to the country.
During a celebrating opening of the facility the organizers hosted among other representatives from main companies of the region, as well as venture capitalists, who came to see new potential source of investments.
