2009-11-04 Virtual Academy of BioinformaticsScientists are recruited by BioInfoBank to provide support for creating Virtual Academy of Bioinformatics.
The Academy is a pilot project of education in bioinformatics for students, PhD students and research professionals with an e-learning method.
Engaged for the project scientists will elaborate didactic materials for the program including 35 subjects. Each subject consists of 15 lectures, the instruction language is English.
The project is co-funded by EU Innovative Economy funds. The e-platform will contain lectures, tests, exercises and multimedia covering learning material provided in 5-years MSc studies.
In the future the project will be also directed to business. Companies will find there employees and partners for bioinformatics projects. The platform would become also a site for both promotion and search of the scientific data in the field.
BioInfoBank Institute is a non-for-profit organization for research and development. Its main goal is support of innovative ideas of young scientists in Poland.
Activities include education in biotechnology and informatics, and a spin-off program enabling promotion of commercial application of scientific discoveries by their authors. Bioinformatics is a central topic of the Institute.
