2009-10-26 Growing Innovation Centre for biotechnology

Jagiellonian Centre of Innovation (JCI), together with Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP), received Innovative Economy EU grant of 125,000,000 PLN for further development of Park and Incubator of technology in Cracow.

The contract was signed between vice-chairman of PARP, Dariusz Szewczyk, and CEO of JCI, Pawel Blachno within the 5.3. EU program - support for centres of innovation.

JCI intends to establish three buildings of the Technology Park. One of them is completed and ready for specialized laboratory space rental, especially to biotech companies. The acquired funds will be assigned for formation of the other two buildings, as well as for creation of new vacancies.

The project of founding the Cracow LIFESCIENCE Park and Incubator is planned to be finished by 2012. Area for the three buildings will reach 20,000 square meters, and will consist of two Technology parks (I and II) – for large and mid-size companies, and a Bioincubator – for small and start-up biotech firms.
