2009-10-19 Poland: Polish-Latvian meeting promises biobusiness cooperation in CE regionOn 18th of October Polish and Latvian biotech representatives met in Lodz to discuss possibilities of cooperation within the Central European region. The meeting took place between CEO of Latvian Biotechnology Association, Juris Vanags, and CEO of BioTech Consulting company – the main BioForum 2010 organizer, Tadeusz Pietrucha.
Presently, it seems around 15 companies from Baltic countries could be interested in participating in BioForum 2010 – key biobusiness event in CE region. The companies are ready to build strong networking with other innovative companies from the biosector in the region of CE.
Latvian Biotechnology Association supports the idea of stimulating interactions within the CE region and becomes a partner in the BioForum 2010 event. We can also count on presentation of Latvian Biotechnical Center experience. Juris Vanags is a chairman of the Center’s board and notices opportunities resulting from such presentation.
Biotechnical Center offers laboratory and pilot scale bioreactors, which are featured with innovative magnetic drive and user friendly bioprocess controller. The quality system of the Center is certified by Bureau Veritas Quality International according to ISO 9001:2000.
Latvian Biotechnology Association (LBA) was created as Latvian biotech network in 2006. The main task of LBA is to promote the cooperation between biotech research institutions, SME and large enterprises, as well support participation in joint projects and help to organize international cooperation. LBA is the member of European Biotechnology Federation. Several initiators behind the Latvian Association of Biotechnology are already involved in the Scan Balt network.
