2009-10-07 Event: BIOTECHNICA conferences touch most actual topics in biotech

In parallel with exhibition and partnering BIOTECHNICA 2009 (6-8th October, Hannover) offers a wide range of conferences at the Convention Center. The topics include therapeutics, diagnostics, biomanufacturing, food analysis, bioIT, biotechnologies and services.

The "Science to market" forum promotes cooperation between science and business in European biopharmaceutical sector in order to enhance progress in marketable products and technologies. The conference concentrates on both innovative products and techniques for their development.

The "Biomanufacturing Symposium" brings up issues of trends in producing innovative biopharmaceuticals. The event is directed mainly to drug developing biotech companies, organizations practicing contract manufacturing and large pharmaceutical companies.
Among others Dr Klaus Drexler from MediGene AG talked about cost effective and reliable relationship between drug developers and manufacturers. Another two presentations were concentrated on biosimilars: their development and manufacturing by Dr Hermann Allgaier from Merckle Biotec GmbH and on the regulatory issues by Dr Katrin Buss from Federal Institute fro Drugs and Medical Devices.
