2009-04-28 Poland: Modernization of didactic infrastructure of two Poznan universitiesTechnical University of Poznan will receive 54mlnPLN for creation of Centre for Mechatronics, Biomechanics and Nanoengineering, and University Center of Medical Biology will be established at Medical University based on budget of 54mlnPLN. In total, almost 100mlnPLN fund will support the modernization of Poznan academy.
The Centre for Mechatronics, Biomechanics and Nanoengineering will consist of teaching halls and rooms, as well as modern laboratories. The centre will teach in the area of innovative technologies: nanotechnology – novel materials, nanometrology, application of artificial intelligence in production automatization, robotics, microassembly, bioengineering – new medical and rehabilitation equipment.
One of the main aims is development of education in the newly created Departments: Mechatronics and Material Engineering. Based on the university research and education resources, new department of Biomedical Engineering is going to be also built.
Plan for establishment of the Centre estimates finish of its construction and equipment by the end of 2011.
The Center of Medical Biology at Medical University is supposed to be finalized in 2012. There has been yet no more information available on the subject how the funding will be exploited.
Financial support for the Poznan universities originates in EU Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment.
