2009-04-17 Poland: International initiative supporting science commercialization in Central Europe

Commercialization of research and development projects constitutes a basis for development of practical side of science. Within an area of Central Europe the business aspect of research is still not much advanced. Among initiatives aiming at raising knowledge on the issue, there are commercialization workshops organized within a frame of BioForum 2009.

The workshops “Commercialisation of research results - how to create value in Life Sciences” are organized by German Steinbeis Network, cooperating with ScanBalt BioRegion. Participants will learn about effective initiation of cooperation, fund raising and business look at scientific projects. Next to theory the program encloses case studies.

Workshops will take place on 5th June in Lodz, and are accessible not only for BioForum 2009 participants. Because of EU support the cost has been reduced to 20EUR. Number of places is limited. Interested scientists may apply by 10th of May to: info@bioforum.pl



BioForum – Central European Forum of Biotechnology (3-5th June) is directed to enthusiastic scientists and businessman who are willing to combine their knowledge, abilities and creativity with business experience.
Forum is also an unique event for Central Europe by stimulating formation of biotech companies and development of innovative bioeconomy. BioForum enables creation of communication network within area of applied life sciences. More information: www.bioforum.pl
