2009-03-27 Poland: The second phase of construction Lifescience Park in KrakowJagiellonian Innovation Center (JCI) has signed a contract with the contractor design and cost documentation for the second phase of construction investment of Jagiellonian Park and Technology Incubator dedicated to life sciences (Lifescience Park) in Krakow. The contractor has become a consortium of PM Group Poland Ltd. and Project Management Ltd. The contract worth 3.4 million includes a comprehensive design of 2 buildings: Bioincubator and Technology Park II.
Lifescience Park is a complex of 3 buildings with a total area of over 20 000 square meters, located in the vicinity of the Jagiellonian University Campus III in Krakow. The first of them with 6,000 square meters area will be used by the first tenants - including Wessling Laboratories company, BioCentrum and JCI Venture.
The project involves the creation of high-quality research infrastructures in research and science field, in order to meet requirements and expectations of large pharmaceutical companies and small businesses from the industry as well.
Jagiellonian Innovation Center is a company founded by Jagiellonian University with the aim of management the project of Lifescience Park. The company acquired structural funds for this purpose. The entire project`s worth is estimated at 200 million €. The company also is involved in promotion of Krakow as a place for the development of life sciences such as biotechnology, biomedicine, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, biophysics, physics.
Project Management is a big Irish design and engineering company, since 1973 carries out the construction projects around the world. Nowadays the company has regional offices, including Ireland, Poland, Great Britain, Russia and the United States.
