2009-02-13 Czech: World award for polymer processing

Czech researcher Vladimir Pavlinek has won the Morand Lambla Award from the International Polymer Processing Society, seated in New York, for his work on polymer processing, Jan Maly, from Tomas Bata University in Zlin . The Morand Lambla Award for researchers under 45 was recently awarded to eminent specialists from Canada, France, Japan and Taiwan and other countries.

He has been awarded for his research of conductive polymers and their use in medicine and other fields. He has also been focusing on electrorheological characteristics of polymer systems and rheology of food. Pavlinek, , who works at the Polymer Centre of the university's Faculty of Technology, will receive the award at a meeting of the Polymer Processing Society in Goa, India, in early March.
