2008-10-28 Poland: Orlen announces tender for rapeseed esters

On Wednesday, PKN Orlen is to announce a tender with a value of 2 mln PLN for the supply of 550 thousands tones of rapeseed esters. The bidding, initially scheduled for the past Friday, was postponed due to the opposition from the National Chamber of Biofuels, which alleges Orlen unclear records in the contract.

PKN Orlen reserves the right to amend the contract by 25%, even for a few days before the start of deliveries each month. Representatives of esters manufacturers believe that such conditions will be impossible to meet.

Out of the 550 tons of methyl esters, which are the tender’s subject, 400 one thousand will go to the domestic market, and the rest will be sold in the territory of the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
