2008-10-27 BioCentrum enters international biotech market
BioCentrum, an enterprise established in Cracow, is one of the first Polish biotechnology companies. It was founded by Adam Dubin, a professor of the Jagiellonian University.
The company’s mission is to create a research platform supporting transfer of the basic research results to a clinical trial stage in the shortest possible time. BioCentrum offers a broad range of in vivo and in vitro tests designed to broaden the preclinical data on the test and integrate them into the research project.
Offer of BioCentrum met with considerable interest at Biotechnika trade fair in Hannover. BioCentrum’s booth on Biotechnica was visited by about 50 potential customers - said Boguslaw Sieczkowski, Vice-President of the company. The highest interest of the visitors was raised by our ADMET tests and CleanCut technology, developed in cooperation with scientists from Jagiellonian University, These techniques enable specific and highly efficient cutting of fusion tags used in R&D laboratories. The technology is based on the use of protease of extremely high specificity of action (SplB), significantly distancing quality from traditionally used enzymes. The technology includes the enzyme, the method of its obtaining, recognized sequences and coding nucleotide sequences for them. Above all, it also comprises the method of applying these technologies in the production of recombinant proteins to cut fusion tags.
BioCentrum offers performance of a variety of research and designations in the field of protein and peptide chemistry. It applies to both: indications of a routine, as well as implementation of more complex projects, such as sequencing of long chains of amino acid sequence polypeptides, specific proteins isolation from biological material, development and optimization of isolation procedures, development of techniques for determining non-antigen protein and others.
International Biotechnika Fair in Hanover is the leading event dedicated to Europe's Biotechnological industry. It covers all the sectors of biotechnology including bioinformatics, pharmacy and medicine.
Biotechnica is not only the most important meeting place for representatives of the industrial Europe biotechnology sector. Events under this brand are also organized on other continents - 17–19 March, 2009 Biotechnica AMERICA will be held in New York, and 1-3 June, 2009 - BIOTECH CHINA in Shanghai
