2008-10-08 TEVA Pharmaceuticals Poland launches new drug
As part of modern technology transfer to the production of drugs to Poland, TEVA Pharmaceuticals Poland is produces montelukast, a modern drug for asthma treatment, called DRIMON.
Montelukast, in accordance with international guidelines is commonly used in the treatment of patients suffering from mild to moderate severity asthma who do not have a sufficient disease control by a standard treatment (mainly inhaled corticosteroids). This medicine is also used by patients suffering from asthma and simultaneous seasonal allergic rhinitis. It helps to prevent the occurrence of symptoms of asthma caused by exercises.
A significant increase in the number of patients using the drug can be observed every year. In 2008 it is estimated that the increase will amount to approximately 28%.
Drimon is the first montelukast produced by the Polish factory.
Its use is saving for your budget and patients. Its competitive price can result from 16 mln PLN to 35 mln PLN savings for the budget a year, giving the opportunity to apply this therapy to patients, for which up till now it was not available.
