2008-10-02 In silico in Adamed
Adamed is one of the first companies in Poland implementing bioinformatics tools.
For this purpose the company created new in silico lab which will be used for new drug design by using advanced mathematic and IT tools.Scientists from Adamed will work on new chemical compounds design. Those molecules will serve as drugs for therapy of diseases like diabetes, cancers and central nervous system disorders. Molecular modeling methods will allow them increase number of verified drug-candidate molecules from few thousands to few hundred thousands.
“Application of bioinformatic tools will enable our scientists to reduce required chemical lab experiments and will facilitate new drugs development” – said Malgorzata Korpusik, R&D director in Adamed.
Using new IT tools and specialist simulators allows designing new chemical compounds and predict their behavior in human body before the molecule will be created in the real world.
