2008-09-30 Bioton’s emerging rival

Adamed, a Polish pharma company owned by Adamkiewicz family is competing with the biggest drug producents in Polish and on export markets. If Adamed will be able to realize its canvassing plans it has a chance to become an important player on biotech products market. This can be achieved by taking over of Polfa Tarchomin.

Polfa Tarchomin has been present on drug market for 200 years. The company started its activity in XIX century in Tarchomin – a village close to Warsaw. It is a place where the first insulin preparation.

The investor is not discouraged by Polfa Tarchomin bad financial situation which has serious problems with liquidity and as stated by Jan Bury, vice-minister of Treasury, responsible for the pharma branch – is endangered with bankruptcy.
