2008-09-26 New biodiesel factory in Buglaria
In the end of September a Bulgarian company, Zarneni Hrani, is opening new biodiesel factory. The investment cost 20 mln EUR and it is supposed to produce 100 000 tones a day.
As it was announced by FAMMU/FAPA the plant will be a part of Chimimport holding, the biggest biofuel producer in European Union. The plant is located in Provadia close to Varna by the Black Sea and it is planning to export 40% of its production (mainly to Romania, Austria, Spain and the Netherlands).
Presently whole next year production is already contracted. A raw material for the biofuel production will be rape, sunflower and soya. The plant is planning to have 66% contribution of Bulgarian biodiesel market until 2012. This year Bulgaria introduced mandatory bioadditive supplementation and is planning to reach 5,75% biofuel in transport by 2010 and 10& by 2020.
The main Zarneni Hrani stockholder is Chimimport Plc. Between 1997 and 2001, when market economy was being introduced in Bulgaria, Zarneni Hrani was gradually privatized. (…) Presently, the activity of the company is service – from credits for farmers, fuel production, fertilizers, and chemicals for production as bottled oils, margarine and biodiesel.
