2008-09-25 Pliva is planning to invest 80 mln zl (over 24 mln EUR) in Cracow (Poland).

Pliva is planning to spent at least 80 mln zl (over 24 mln EUR) on the new investment project in Cracow (Poland). On Wednesday, Cracow Town Council agreed to establish special economic zone (Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna) in area intended for the investment.

As it was announced by Krystyna Sadowska from the Special Economic Zone managing company, Pliva in their proposal for the Special Economic Zone extention motivated the inquiry with plan to start a novel investment project worth of 80 mln zl (over 24 mln EUR) and opening 50 new vacancies.

Croatian Pliva is a European generic drugs producer. Since 2006 it is owned by an American group, Barr Pharmaceuticals, Inc. As a result of the fusion they serve as the third, in the context of size, generic drugs producer in the world.
