Stem Cells Spin co. is the first biotechnological spin-off in Poland presenting unbelievable facility for conducting the business from idea to commercialization. Success of the co. relies on the discovery of scientists from the Wroclaw Mecidal University. MIC-1 stem cells gained from deer’s antlers demonstrate unusual regenerating features, which is the base for future products design of the Stem Cells Spin company. At any moment, the invention will find its application in medicine as well as cosmetic preparates.
The recently gained patents confirm innovativeness of the company products, which will take advantage of MIC-1, and are a milestone in the process of business plans realization. – We possess three significant patents that allow us to carry through with the first stage of our strategy. - says Janisław Muszyński, the president of the Stem Cells Spin co. board – Having patent protection, we may start the process of introduction of new product lines into the market of dermocosmetics and animal care. The first patent achieved by the company in March 2011 considers the manner of culture of stem cells from growing deer’s antlers. The two latest are equally crucial as they protect the way to obtain MIC-1 stem cells and with their application.
Moreover, the patents strengthen the position of the company from the point of view of virtual investors and partners. – During the dialogue with investors, domestic and foreign, the most often appearing question considers the issue of patent protection. – said Grzegorz Smak, a member of the Stem Cells Spin co. board.
Products of the Stem Cells Spin co. will enter the Polish market according to a specified schedule. – We rely on innovative biological substances. This is the evident characteristic of the discovered MIC-1 stem cells, which are absolutely unique. Innovative activities require carefully considered registration and business strategies. This is the reason why we talk about certain stages in commercialization of an invention, indicating planned way from the easiest introduction of dermocosmetics and veterinary care agents, through medical and veterinary therapeutic products in the next step, up to medical products for humans in the end. – explained Grzegorz Smak. Indeed, in the 2nd quarter of 2012 we may expect completion of the first strategy stage, where dermocosmetics are planned to be introduced into the market. Independently on the work connected with commercialization of already existing products, we are continuing simultaneous research, which may help in treatment of many difficult diseases in the future. – adds Grzegorz Smak.
Stem Cells Spin co. debuted at the NewConnect in the middle of 2011. It ensures access to the funds financing R&D activities and possibility of introduction of the first products into the market. The company board considers profiting for further development from the National Science Centre, National Centre of Research and Development and Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. Additional applications for funds to finance research on innovative products are also planned. Stem Cell Spin co. is going to conquer the European and Asian markets in the very near future.
